Two people taken to hospital after motorcycle, police car collided in Etobicoke

  TORONTO The province’s police watchdog is investigating a collision between a motorcycle and a Toronto police vehicle in Etobicoke Thursday evening that sent two people to hospital. Police say it happened in the area of Sixth Street and Birmingham Street, north of Lake Shore Boulevard West, just before 8 p.m. Toronto paramedics say a woman in her 30s and another person were transported to trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the two victims were both from the motorcycle. There are no injuries to the police officers. The cause of the crash is unknown. The Special Investigations Unit probes incidents involving police where there has been serious injury, death or allegations of sexual assault.

May 14, 2021 A newspaper delivery driver is in the hospital with a serious gunshot wound after a shooting in the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood. On Friday, May 14, 2021 at 4:06a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 4400 block of Northeast Shaver Street. They located an adult male victim with a serious gunshot injury. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. His injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening. The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to investigate. They learned the victim and a female passenger were driving slowly down the street delivering newspapers when a suspect in another vehicle fired at them through the windshield of the unmarked delivery van. The suspect left the scene. No suspect description is being released at this time.
